Congestion At Ports
Congestion At Ports
We are facing unprecedented delays at origin port at Mundra, India as well as at destination port at Felixstowe, UK. This is due to combination of factors such as equipment shortage, longer transit times, Brexit uncertainties and unscheduled stopovers at Columbo, Sri Lanka as well as Salalah port, Oman.
We expect this situation to normalise by early next year. We are constantly updating the container arrival dates on our website however in majority of the cases we only receive a 30 minutes notice hence do expect a lag between revised container arrival dates and website updates.
We deeply apologise for the inconvenience and our team is constantly liaising round the clock with the global shipping partners to minimise the delays and improve the flow of information.

Holi Closure Notice – Our India locations will be closed for Holi: Jaipur office on 25th March, factory 25th-27th March, and artisanal centres for 10 days from 25th March. Operations in London, Ipswich, the US, and Germany remain unaffected.
Happy Holi! (Date of Publication: 19th March, 2024)
- Price Increase Deferred – Despite increased costs in India and a better UK economy, we understand the £8 Red Sea surcharge’s potential impact on our customers. To support you, we’re delaying the price increase from April 1st to May 1st, 2024, hoping for an improved Red Sea situation soon. (Date of publication: 14th March, 2024)
- DHL Express – Currently, duty charges, where applicable, are not shown at checkout and must be paid to DHL Express upon delivery, following the Delivered Duty Unpaid (DDU) protocol. We’re transitioning to the Delivery Duty Paid (DDP) protocol for duty charges to be included at checkout, with DHL Express expected to implement this within four weeks from our initial launch. This upgrade is targeted for completion by the end of March. This adjustment will not affect the overall cost for the end customer, as duty charges remain their responsibility, either at checkout or upon delivery.

(Red Sea Update Version 4.O)- Starting from the 15th of February 2024, there will be an additional £3 increase per product, on top of the existing £5 increase, due to issues related to the Red Sea. (Date of publication: 25th January 2024)
- (Red Sea Update Version 3.O) – The ongoing Red Sea crisis continues to significantly impact ocean freight, leading to a x6 increase in costs. We expect further rises due to extended transit times, higher repositioning charges, and escalating insurance premiums. Consequently, an emergency surcharge of between £5 to £20 per product is projected for the foreseeable future. (Date of publication: 11th January 2024)

(Red Sea Update Version 2.O) –Â Maritime Advisory – This is an advisory update with no immediate action required from customers
The maritime journey, now extended by 6000 miles, is akin to a delayed train taking much longer to complete its route. This delay means containers are slow to recycle back to their origin, causing ‘blank sailings’ – similar to trains not stopping at their scheduled stations.
The result is an overwhelming scramble for space on subsequent ‘trains’, leading to shutouts even for ready and waiting cargo.
This logistical bottleneck is driving up costs, ground rentals, and cash flow challenges leading to delayed containers and frequent backorder situations. (Date of publication: 5th January 2024)
- Important Update: Routing Changes and Surcharge Effective January 15th, 2024 – (Red Sea Update Version 1.O)
We regret to inform you of significant disruptions in our shipping routes. Due to recent security incidents in the Red Sea area, all maritime carriers are now rerouting from the usual Suez Canal to the longer Cape of Good Hope, adding over 6000 miles and extending transit times from 18 to 39-42 days.
This has severely impacted our supply chain, affecting container availability and overall costs. To address these unprecedented situations, we will introduce a ‘Red Sea Emergency Detour Surcharge’ of £5 per product, starting from January 15th, 2024. This additional fee is a direct reaction to a temporary rise in shipping costs and will be removed once regular shipping routes are reinstated.
We understand the inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding and support as we navigate these challenging conditions. Your partnership is invaluable to us, and we are committed to returning to our standard operations as quickly as possible. (Date of publications: 19th December 2024)

Flo UK: We apologize for any inconvenience caused as our engineers diligently work on integrating FLO with US and EU sites. During testing phases, you may experience temporary slowdowns or unresponsiveness. We are committed to minimizing these impacts as we develop a more robust platform for a brighter future. Thank you for your understanding and patience
- April 2024 Price Update – In consideration of our customers, we’ve deferred our annual price increase, last adjusted in October 2022, by five months. Effective 1st April 2024, a 5% price increase will apply across all products and programs (with higher increase on few products). Importantly, back orders placed by 31st March 2024 will be honored at current prices, even if dispatched after 1st April 2024. (Date of publication: 19th November 2023)
- The majority of discontinued items can be ordered as “on demand” items with longer lead times (8-12 weeks). To place an order, please open a ticket and include the product code.
